I must admit that single coil pickup is a must for this kind of tone!
Having said that, I would definitely suggest the yellow OD-3 overdrive pedal and Marshall JCM800 or Tangerine to get the punchy-mid Jimi Hendrix vibe. Enhancing the mids with an EQ should also help.
